What is it about?

EC3304 is an essential module for all Economics major. It covers mainly
autoregressive distributed lag models, panel regressions, and limited dependent variable regressions.

Students are evaluated through three modes of assessment -- Participation, Mid-term and Final. For Participation, he awards you point so long as you attend and present your answer. You do not need to be correct, just show some effort. As tutorials are held bi-weekly, 2 hours each, there is more than ample time for you to work on the tutorials. However, as tutorials were cancelled subsequently due to COVID-19, we were asked to instead submit our answers on LumiNUS instead for our participation point. For Mid-term, the paper was relatively simple except for one question which many wasn't able to do. He gives students a lot of paper to practice on so no worries on that. For Final, our paper was real easy (even easier than EC2303 though some topics are new). Due to COVID-19, our paper is conducted online and the rigour required for our Final pale so much in comparison to the usual physical test paper.

Review

Professor Eric Fesselmeyer is a rather chill lecturer. He has been teaching this module for over 10 years if I am not mistaken. Professor Eric Fesselmeyer does explain the concept well but often-times, the tutorials require knowledge beyond what was taught and I had to struggle a bit for some of the tutorial questions.

For Mid-Term, I find him to be quite lenient in his marking. As I mentioned above, there was a question that many couldn't do. I tried my best to complete the question but I still miss the mark slightly. However, he did gave me some sympathy marks. I didn't work extremely hard for this module but just did what was given to us. Textbook is not a must-read though it could be useful if you want to understand the topics taught better. For Final, it was real easy and not a true indication of this module so I will not elaborate on it.

Overall, the content isn't a lot though it could be slightly demanding. However, this is a module that students could aim for an A for as hard work is rewarded.
