What is it about?

MNO2705 is an essential core module for Business Student and you can't clear it on exchange or summer. In other words, you must take it in NUS.

Students are evaluated through four modes of assessment -- Participation, Quiz, Decision Challenge and Decision Reflection. For Quiz, it is essentially an end-semester test held in week 10. It is essay-based and it tests students on the entire syllabus with a focus on readings. For Decision Challenge, students essentially examine a decision of their choice as a group, applying the concepts taught. Students will then present their analysis in week 11/12. For Decision Reflections, students will have to partner up with someone in the class and write up two essays. Similar to the decision challenge, students examine a decision of their choice as a duo and apply the concepts taught. However, the expectation for these reflection pieces is much less demanding than for the decision challenge, with duo only required to focus on 1-3 concepts taught in class for their analysis.

Review

Being one of the tanker for my group project, I was annoyed that some of my group members got to free ride and attain a final grade of A as there was no peer reviews involved. Nevertheless, I do deserve a B+ as I didn't do particularly well (50 percentile) for the Quiz as I rushed all the readings in a day before the exam.

On another case, Professor Soo Yeon Kim is a new lecturer in NUS and we were one of the first classes that he taught in NUS. As a new lecturer, there were some grading or assessment that he wasn't aware of and we had to approach him to ask him about it for him to realise that there were such a milestone involved. Regardless, it was great having him as a lecturer.
