What is it about?

EC2303 is an Economics Statistics introductory module, covering topics such as binomial distribution, confidence interval and etc.

Students are assessed through two Homeworks, a Mid-term Exam, Finals and Participation and Attendance. The two Homeworks are basically short online quizzes. You will be given an hour to complete 5 relatively easy questions on the topics taught. They are easy so attaining full marks for it is not an issue. Mid-term Exam is a 30-marks paper consisting of 5 MCQs and SAQs. Finals is a 50-marks paper composing of a mixture of MCQs and SAQs. The examinations are rather easy as some tutorial questions are repeated. In a sense, this module rewards people who redo their tutorials, so scoring well is not impossible.

Review

Compared to EC1101E, I would say that EC2303 is much less competitive because it is math-based (and many give up on it). The key to scoring well is really to redo your tutorial and be extra careful when tackling the questions because one mark is literally worth 1% of your final grade. Content isn't heavy so there will be more than ample time to understand the syllabus.

Do not be daunted by the fact that it is math-based cause not much effort is required to score an A unlike EC1101E.
